Coach McClosky graduated from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a minor in health education. In December 2000 Coach McClosky became part of the Cypress Falls Golden Eagles staff as a teacher and coach. McClosky has taught in many areas in his tenure at Cypress Falls. Those classes include LIFE Skills, IPC, resource geometry, Teen Leadership, Athletics, and Health.

 

Coach McClosky's baseball career:

McClosky played High School baseball for Gary Harrington and James Hillin at Baytown Lee High School (1990 - 1993) where he was a 3 year letterman and a two time all district performer. Coach McClosky played college baseball for Galveston College where he was a member of the 1994 National JUCO World Series Champions.  McClosky also played baseball at Lee College were he was named to the Texas Jr. College All Star Team.  He signed a scholarship and played at the University of Texas in 1996-1997.  After a coaching change at Texas Coach McClosky was then forced to transfer yet again and sign another scholarship and finish his baseball and academic career at Sam Houston State University.  Coach McClosky's baseball profile includes being named to the All Time Great Pony Baseball Team in 1995. McClosky also scouted part time for the Chicago White Sox for two years.
 
Coach McClosky is married to his lovely wife Julie and has two children Tyler and Macy.
